This article is for those who say “I don’t care because I’ve got nothing to hide.”

YOU SHOULD HAVE SOMETHING TO HIDE

In ten years’ time, we all will be able to trust Microsoft, Google, Apple, Facebook and co.

Computers:

Anybody can learn programming but the best programmers have in-depth understanding of the computer architecture. They can visualize how every command would work before they even type it in.

In other words, intimate knowledge about the computer makes you become a powerful computer programmer. You will be able to issue commands and make the computer do virtually anything you want.

People:

With one picture of you, I can place you in a few places you have never been to. On the other and, armed with many pictures of you, I can place you anywhere I want. I could a make mute video footage placing you on Mount Kilimanjaro but it would not pass for much because we can’t hear you speak.

With several recordings of your voice, the video footage becomes real. You will say things you would never say. You would admit to crimes you have never committed. You’ll get in a lot of trouble. And of course, I could get you out of trouble if you play ball. It gets even better.

If I know your habits, routines, favorite words... I could do more convincing stunts on your behalf. You’ll attend parties, drive big cars, travel all over the world for free... Of course, I know my limits.

If everyone knows you to be a moralist and my ‘video’ shows otherwise, you might get a few sympathizers and so, I’ll choose you because you have anger issues and have gone overboard sometimes in the past – you know, something that FITS YOU. Who’d believe you now?

Someone has to take the blame:

Did you know that in third world countries and oppressive regimes like (well you know them), important bad guys don’t go to prison... hello scapegoat. How you doing?

To those who would say: “This asshole is blowing things overboard! He is a conspiracist trying to slander...”

20 years ago, worldwide surveillance of everybody at the same time was a fairy tale.

Trust:

In business, when a company X needs some knowledge it can’t get on its own what would it do? It’ll get assistance or partnership with companies that have such knowledge. Eventually, company X would gain the required knowledge and most likely fire its partners.

Today, you shouldn’t trust some companies (well any company) as they are partners in crime. In a few years, you’ll be able to trust them. By that time though, they wouldn’t have to give anyone access to your data because they wouldn’t need to.

When that happens – AND IT WILL... well use your imagination.

“There’s nothing new under the sun. If it can be done, it will be done... it’s already been done.”
